Craft Space Tuesday: Get Orgnized Wrap Up and Blog Updates

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

On this weeks Craft Space Tuesday we start off with a wrap up of the Get Organized Challenge.

Now How did I do?

Not to bad. I did loose major motivation towards the end but I'm still happy with everything I got done and where I'm at. I still have a long way to go but there will be another challenge in the fall and we'll see if I can make some more improvements then.

I just want to showcase one more part of the get organized challenge today. And it was sort of a "why didn't I think of this before" moment.

So most of the dies I have are nestabilities which means they have an open center.

I've been cutting out all the dies to glue them into my catalog. Well I got to the last set and had absolutely no drive to cut them all out on my cuttlebug... And then I realized I could just trace the inside window!!!! Is it perfect? No but is it good enough and close enough for me? ABSOLUTELY! I was so mad that it took me so long to figure this one out! I could have easily finished my dies in one day had I thought of this earlier!

Remember I'm always looking for Craft Space Tuesday post ideas. If you have a crafting topic you'd like to see me talk about. Leave a comment down below, Send me an E-mail at mycraftyplacesam@gmail.com

OK so that's the exciting part of today and now to the more boring part.

My next few weeks are crazy which as you already know is why you aren't seeing daily blog posts right now. As part of this I'm working on some blog layout updates and other blog type updates. In what I've nicknamed this week electronic organization week. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up if the blog starts to look a little different.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 153

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter if you celebrate and if you don't I hope you had a nice weekend! I can't believe it's already the last week of March.

It's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge day and I'm actually pretty happy with how this came out!

Here's the Sketch:

At first I was kinda thrown off by this one... only because I wanted to have a BIG sentiment in the middle and I didn't have anything.... Now hopefully some time in the next few days I'll be getting an accessory for my SNC that could solve this problem but it's still on it's way to me. But I think I made it work and finding some BIG sentiments are on my list.

But here's what I came up with!

Not to bad and honestly the more I look at it. The more I like it.

Stamps: Penny Black

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black.

Paper: The Stash and Bo Bunny

Accessories: Pink Bling from Want 2 Scrap, Chameleon "multi liner" (I don't think that's what he company calls it but that's what I call it.) And a plastic canvas for the the faux stitching.

Party pup

I know I had said that I was going to slow down on posts a little bit but I made this card and just had to share!

The paper is from Bo Bunny and  the stash and so is the ribbon. The image is from Sparkle N Sprinkle and the bling on the rosette is from Want 2 Scrap.

Craft Space Tuesday: Technique Binder!

This is a very long term project!!! It was inspired by a friend of mine and I'm hoping to get some pictures of hers when she comes to visit in a few weeks. Over the years she has taken a lot of Stampin Up classes. She's not a demo but she almost exclusively uses stampin up products but I've been spending a lot of time trying to introduce her to other companies and products! Don't get me wrong I use some Stampin UP stuff to but there's just too much stuff out there for me to limit myself like that!

Anyway that's not what were here to talk about. She's been creating small ATCish type cards with the techniques she learns in this class writes the directions on the back and keeps them in a binder. So I've done something similar.

So this is just one picture. As I said it's a long term project and I hope you'll have some fun watching me work on it and there will be more pictures as we go.

I'm still looking for Craft Space Tuesday ideas! You can comment down below, send me an E-mail at mycraftyplacesam@gmail.com, or like the My Craft Place page on Facebook and leave me a note there!

And here's my card!

The doggy stamp is from sparkle and sprinkle the paper is from my stash as well as DCWV and Do Bunny and I'm not quite sure where the little bone buttons are from.

Crafting When We Can Sketch Challenge!

I love sketch challenges! You all know they are my absolute favorite! And this week at CWWC that's exactly what we have! Now I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not totally happy with how this card turned out. Because of how I cut the image it wouldn't fit on the card sideways so I had to do the card vertically and then I had every spaced out and went to glue things down and it shifted and did not come out as nice as I originally hoped.

The paper on this one is from the stash and DCWV Once Upon a Time stack! and the image of course is from the sponsor this week who is Lacy Sunshine and this stamp is Forever my Darling- Love Not Fairy!

So make sure you check out Crafting When We Can and join in on this challenge.

Also while I was working on posts for today I did some thinking.... I think that I'm going to slow down on posts for a little over the next few weeks... You'll see all the usually DT posts and Craft Room Tuesdays (Don't forget to leave suggestions in the comments or through my E-mail on sidebar). The reason for this is that Easter is coming, then I have a free weekend and then I'm going out of town for a few days and the week after that is Scrapbook Expo! And because I'm trying to work on some awesome stuff for Scrapbook Expo I don't want to get super burned out and not want to craft when scrapbook expo comes around! So I'll still be around for the next few weeks but maybe just not quite as much!

DS4J New Release Day!

Good Morning.

I hope you don't mind that I took a few days off from my blog... I normally don't like to do that but I didn't have any cards done and just didn't get around to it. But I do have 2 posts today!

First up is the Digi Stamps 4 Joy New Release. I have to say that when I first saw the stamps this was my favorite.

This one is made using Phantasi 5 and paper from DCWV Once Upon a Time Stack. And colored with copics!

And it was my favorite until I made this one!

I'm not sure whats going on with the line where the colors shift a little... At first I thought it was a little mistake in the card until I edited another photo and they same thing happened so I'm not sure whats up with that.  Anyway in this one the background is water colored and the rest is colored with colored pencils. The paper is from the stash and the twine is American Crafts I believe. And features Juice Break from the new release.

Oulawz Progressive Challenge

On Sunday I featured the DS4J progressive challenge and I mentioned that I was also participating in another progressive challenge and that one is at Outlawz. This month the freebie is from GSD-Stamps.com and it's simply adorable and I had so much fun working with it.

Isn't it cute! I just love it! The bunny is a light yellow color and his glasses are light purple but both colors were a little to light for my Ipad to pick up and got lost in the Photoshop White Balance.

Stamp: GSD-Stamps.com, Target $ Spot

Ink: Copic, Distress Picked Raspberry

Paper: The stash and The Paper Studio

Craft Space Tuesday

Good Morning!

I really have been enjoying these "Get Organized" Tuesday posts. So I'm slightly revising them to Craft Space Tuesday! The Get Organized challenge is wrapping up in the next few weeks but I like talking about craft things that aren't always showing off a project so I'm going to try and keep those to Craft Space Tuesdays!

Things that might be featured included; My favorite crafty products, What my current work space looks like, progress on organizing things, hauls from crafty shopping, Q and A type things from the comments and that get asked through E-mail. I'm always open to other ideas too.

This week's post is inspired by a reader comment! Kim from Katy Did Cards left me a comment last week asking if I would share my Digi Stamp organization! Well of course1

This was my first Digi Stamp Organization. I'd download them and put them in a folder with all the other stamps from that company. Which worked well for blogging but not always for finding a stamp I needed unless I knew where it was from.

Then we I joined my Design Teams I made another folder for them so I knew which Digis I had for my DT duties.

And this is the new way! I have the stamps sorted into categories so I can look at all my animal stamps together etc. I kept the other 2 files to be able to cross reference for the blog and so far it's been working well for me!

Back to the Orgnizing...

While the blog might have taken a week from organizing I didn't!! I am happy to say that all my stamps are cataloged, all my inks are cataloged and I'm currently working on cataloging my dies!

This is a picture of my nestiblites circle dies before they got put in the catalog.

I also worked on getting my digi stamps all organized on my computer as my "photo" challenge since I don't do a lot of scrap booking so I don't have a lot in the way of photos.  But those are also done! But those pictures would just be lists of files on my computer and kind of boring. But they are sorted into categories like everything else and I also have another folder where I can cross refence where they are from for when I write the blog!

How I work

So I thought this might be a bit of a fun post since I'm doing a little of a crafting switch over this weekend.

Not like actual craft switch over but like a theme switch over.

So I have a "collection" of what I call mini paper packs and that's basically where all my patterned paper comes from. I leave them in my crop tote.  I pull out 2 packs and then those are the ones I use till there gone! The butterfly card from yesterday used up a paper pack so I have to go grab another one out of the tote to replace that one but I'm pretty inspired by the other one I have right now.

ANIMALS!!! That whole pile next to it is just animal digi stamps! Not even like regular stamps I have with animals! I still have to go pull out another paper pack for other non-animal things and just to balance out the animals but this should be fun!

Digi Stamps 4 Joy March Challenge

Woohoo!! It's time for my first Digi Stamps 4 Joy Challenge! This months theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of add an animal.

So I made this little cutie!

February 20th was National Love Your Pet Day! I don't have a pet right now so I sent this little card to my friends dog! He's a pug so he dosen't look like this puppy but I bet he still liked it! My friend and I joke that he's my doggy nephew.

1.  First I cut the background with my card creator dies (And ripped the paper :P)
2. I cut the green square by just trimming it up (And then used it to cover up the ripped spot)
3. I cut the heart on my SNC and then went over it with some salty ocean distress ink.
4. Little Barney has too many open lines to cut on the SNC So I cut him out with my Gyro Cut. I colored him with copics!
5. I cut the banner piece on my SNC. Then used 2 puppy brads from Eyelet Outlet!
5. I glued it all together and then did something really cool on the inside (OK actually I did this first)

6. I used my SNC to write Happy Love Your Pet Day and then used a dog stamp set I have to stamp the border along the bottom in Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I forgot to take the picture before I wrote the message so that's all the smudge on their...

I hope you'll join us for this month's challenge!
